Look 5 Years Younger With This Purifying Flaxseed Face Mask Recipe!
For skin that is baby soft to touch with enviable radiance, try this flax seed face mask!
Do you feel your skin becoming loose? Are there fine lines appearing from the corner of your eyes? Or dark spots that were not there earlier? We have one suggestion for you - flax seed face mask!
It can transform your skin. We ain't making claims here, as we have done our research and this is what we found out. Flax seeds are rich omega 3, 6 and 9 fatty acid content.
These acids penetrate deep into skin layers, they hydrate the skin, making it supple and smooth. Furthermore, flax seed is a rich source of vitamins A, B and E, which together form a powerful antioxidant. It sloughs off dead skin layers, shrinks pores, reduces oil secretion, lifts and firms up the skin.
Flax seed mask also helps remove wrinkles. It improves the collagen count of the skin, which in turn increases elasticity, keeping fine lines at bay.
Before using flax seed to lift skin, there are a few things you need to keep in mind. Never apply the seed raw, without grinding it, as it will prevent the nutrient within the seed from reaching your skin.
And also, it can be messy applying the mask. Hence, to make your job easier and to get most out of this deep-cleansing flax seed mask, here is a step-by-step guide.

Step 1:
Boil half a cup of water in a pan. Wait until it comes to a boiling point. Lower the flame and let the water simmer.

Step 2:
Add a tablespoon of flax seeds to the water, let it simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Keep stirring it with a spoon. Turn off the heat. Cover the pan with a white cloth, and let it sit for an hour or two.

Step 3:
Strain the solution and grind the flax seeds into a smooth paste. Make sure there are no lumps and the mask is as smooth as possible. If the mixture is too rough while grinding, add a few drops of milk.

Step 4:
Add 1 teaspoon of multani mitti to the mask. Clay has charged molecules that work as a magnet in drawing out the toxins from skin. Not just that, it also kills the infection-causing bacteria, absorbs impurities and tones the skin.

Step 5:
To the mixture, add a tablespoon of honey. Keep stirring until all the ingredients blend together into one smooth paste. Amino acid in honey acts as a humectant, helping the skin retain its moisture. Furthermore, it has vitamins E and C that brighten the skin tone.

Step 6:
Cleanse your face with water to remove all the dirt residue from the face. If you have makeup on, use a mild cleanser to remove it.

Step 7:
Using a brush, apply a thin coat of the flax seed face mask starting from your forehead working your way down to your neck. Avoid area around your eyes and lips. It has thin skin membrane, and the ingredients of this flax seed face mask can cause it to dry out, making it susceptible to develop wrinkles.

Step 8:
Let the mask sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Once it is dry, spritz some water and when the mask loosens, start scrubbing in a circular motion, using the tip of your fingers. Do this for 2 minutes.

Step 9:
Rinse your face with lukewarm water, following it up with cold water rinse. Using a tissue, dab your skin to remove excess moisture. Avoid rubbing your skin with a towel.

Step 10:
Massage your skin with a light oil-free moisturizer. Prep your skin by slapping your skin and forehead first a couple of times, then work the moisture in upward strokes, stroking your cheek up and then moving outwards. Your freshly exfoliated skin will soak the moisture right up, giving it a dewy glow.

Conclusion
This flax seed face mask will slow down the skin's ageing process, make it healthy and radiant. However, be sure to patch test the mask first to avoid any possibility of side effects.
