Which Type Of Pimple Do You Have?
Pimple, is a skin problem which is a disaster to your beauty and is a common trouble among teenagers and working professionals. Pimples seem to be inevitable at a time when we are mostly exposed to pollution and impurities. Pimples is an infection which is caused due to a bacteria called comedo.
One of the main causes of pimples is the blocking of the oil secreted from the small glands under the skin. This oil helps to keep the skin moisturised. When this oil is blocked due to dead skin scales, blocked skin pores etc, it results in an infection, which then erupts in form of pimples. Pimples are not only the one which looks like a boil, is red and painful the process to that stage is also a pimple . There are several types of pimples.
The types of pimples can be categorised into two –non-inflammatory and inflammatory.
The non-inflammatory pimples are blackheads and whiteheads.
The inflammatory pimples are – Papules, Pustules, Nodules and Cysts. The first step to curing pimples is to know which type you have. Here is a discussion -
1.Whiteheads -Whiteheads is the beginning of the process of pimples. When the sebum accumulates and is blocked under the follicles, whiteheads are formed. Whiteheads look white because they are not exposed to air and thus their tip is not darkened. This is where the importance of face cleaning comes in. Face cleaning clears all the whiteheads and thus, the chance of further degree of pimples.
2.Blackheads – Blackheads is when the whitehead has come to the surface and is open to the air. The tip is oxidized and turned black. Hormonal changes, unclean skin, excessive use of cosmetics etc, promotes blackheads. Scrubbing your skin is one way to protect blackheads but excessive scrubbing may lead to a breakout of blackheads. In some cases the follicle wall breaks making your skin more sensitive to pimples.
Non-Inflammatory Pimples -
1.Papules – Papules is the next step to whiteheads and look like small skin eruptions, reddish in colour. They are filled with pus and painful. The ill effect of papules type of pimples is that even after curing they leave behind a permanent scar.
2.Pustules – Pustules are less painful with a red eruption and yellow centre, through which the collected pus can be seen. They are more sensitive to be a bigger pimple. They tend to burst even with a little pressure and where ever the pus trickles, there are possibilities that another pimple might erupt in that place. Bursting of this pimple does not mean cure, it means further form of bigger pimples.
3.Nobules and Cysts – Nobules and cysts are more serious types of pimples. They are very painful and spread over a larger area. They are deep rooted and are harder than the papules and pustules. These take longer to heal and often leave behind a permanent mark. They make the skin area sensitive of pimples and there are possibilities and you might find another pimple in the same area.
So, which type of pimple do you have? Pimple cure demands not only healthy skin care but a lot also depends on your diet.
