Soap Face Wash, Better for Face?

There are varieties of face washes available in the market for all skin types and these have been found effective in cleansing the face and keeping it fresh. Lets have a look at the benefits of face washes.
- Face washes contain low levels of AHA's which keeps the skin as bright and soft.
- Facial washes are gentler then bar soaps as they don't contain harsh ingredients.
- Face washes will not extract vital oils from the face as bar soaps, which overproduces oil to make up for the dryness after soap face wash thus leading to blemishes and breakouts.
- Many people find soap face wash convenient as it can be used without a sponge or washcloth. It is cheap and a product used since ages. Also the soap produces more lather which has created a prejudice that nice foam can only clean the face.
- Bar soaps are less hygienic than facial washes as they constantly get exposed to moisture which makes their surface a place for bacterial growth. Sharing your soap is also unhygienic.
- Be careful while buying a face wash, don't forget to check that it should not have exfoliators. Use of exfoliator on a regular basis is not good for the skin as it has tiny beads so is not advised for regular use.
Also the face wash vs soap face wash users find soaps harsh and foamy on their face as the residue of the bar soap remains on the face even after rinsing it with water. People who use soap to wash face find it suitable to them. So if you can't leave soap then opt for a face soap with glycerin extracts to moisturize the skin.
Some after effects of bar soap on the face are skin dryness, itching, low pH scale measure, damage to the skin functioning and burning.
The skin on the face is thin and very sensitive therefore, it is advisable to wash the face with face wash which is medicated and herbal like Himalaya Face Wash or Soap, which are available in the market. But if your skin is allergic to cosmetic/chemical cleansers then opt for natural soap face wash like besan, curd and milk paste to maintain your skin glow and exfoliate them.
