Van Heusen Men Fashion Week Starts Today

The second season of Van Heusen Men Fashion Week 2010 starts today and is scheduled to go on till the 29th of this month. This three day event will witness the top notch designers from across India. A great collection of latest, ethnic and western menswear will adorn the Van Heusen Men Fashion Week.

The main motto of the Fashion Week is to diminish boundaries and create business. The show will feature 16 shows and 17 exhibitors at the Grand Hotel in Vasant Kunj. Shantanu and Nikhil, Rohit Gandhi, Rajesh Pratap Singh and Karan Johar with Varun Bahl are some of the designers from the league of 17.

Mr. Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “Designers are at the forefront of the fashion revolution and constitute the core of the fashion industry. We expect some defining trends in mens fashion to be set this year, which you will witness during Van Heusen India Men Fashion Week. The response received so far from the designer fraternity has been overwhelming. I wish all the participating designers the very best as they gear up to participate at the Van Heusen India Mens Week 2010."

The states participating in Van Heusen Men Fashion Week are Mumbai, Jaipur, Bangalore and Goa. Mumbai being the fashion hub of India has always introduced the best of fashion, Bangalore the IT Capital lives life with style and thus has good sense of fashion, Goa the western India and Jaipur will flaunt the ethnic Indian wear.

The Fashion Week promises to exhibit the very best of Indian menswear designer talent, thus making India the fourth fashion capital for menswear in the world.
Designer Sanchita Ajjampur, will be participating for the first time In Van Heusen Fashion Week. She has been well known for her feminine fashion line but this season she will flaunt her exquisite men wear collection.

A host of top models will set the ramp on fire and with Karan Johar around, many famous faces from Bollywood will also appear on the stage and brand ambassador of Van Heusan, John Abraham will also walk the ramp.

'This year, Van Heusen has called in their own dealers who can place their orders. Apart from them, we have also called 30-40 domestic buyers from various fashion houses catering to menswear. So, we are expecting business in the domestic sector. We have invited a few foreigners for the shows. But to be frank, the business will be mostly domestic-centric," says FDCI President Sunil Shethi.
