Gothic Fashion For Men

By Staff

What is the waving fashion trend among the post modern men? To find an answer, just have a glance at the young generation guys who freak out on streets with so lot of chains on their dresses and number of heavy metal ornaments all over the body. You might have wondered at guys who wear tribal-like jewellery and cloths; but, this is a style revived from the ancient days which is called the Gothic style.

Gothic fashion is a clothing style worn by members of the Goth subculture. It is stereotyped as a dark, sometimes morbid, eroticized fashion and style of dress. Typical gothic fashion includes black dyed hair, dark eyeliner, dark fingernails, and black clothes. Styles are often borrowed from the Elizabethans and Victorians. The extent to which 'goths' hold to this stereotype varies, though virtually all Goths wear some of these elements. But today those who wear cloths and ornaments of ancient times are not called 'goths', but the most modern people.

The jewellery world is fast pricking the ears of the new-age dandy man who is all in for fashionable earrings, trendy trinkets and bracelets, chunky chains and funky lockets, and multi-purpose finger rings which stand testimony to men's changing tastes in fashion. Bangle bracelets are selling like real hot cakes in the market. Loose fit bracelets with a tinkling sound are very in. Men jewelry is available in different types of material right from glittery gold and silver to elegant and sophisticated pearls and diamonds. Beaded and antique designer men accessory jewelry is hot and happening. Men try out all these funky cool jewelry to make own fashion statement.

The Gothic trend, what was then dumped in the dark streets of America's deepest suburbs has subsequently resurrected recently on the fashion world is now making a fierce comeback to make a statement of high-fashion. Now, a couple of earrings on the right ear lobe with a formal suit is no more a punk prickle but a sophisticated style with youthful approach.

Today men prefer jewellery in wood, brass, gunmetal, terracotta, matte-silver etc... A lot of young men, including office-goers, wear chic press-earrings and other trinkets. From bottle openers shaped like an eagle's beak, bikes, skeleton heads, watches and zodiac signs... Designs are endless. Terracotta bracelets and Chinese wooden necklaces are the hottest with a big, over-sized ring on the left hand for weekends and while during week days just a earring and a loose bracelet will do it.

Goth style was considered as a rejection of mainstream values, emphasis on freedom of expression, and challenging taboos, which make it difficult to define its aesthetic principles. Goth fashion emphasizes transformation of the body, elements of beauty, order, conscious eroticism and 'otherness' that flouts conventions. Gothic style will help you to determine your own fashion in a unique way. You can have a romantic look with tailored velvet jackets, lace and period items, or prefer punk, with bondage pants and a spiked collar. There is no one single goth fashion, but it differs as you like it and as you prefer.
