From Faux Freckles To 3D Facelift, 7 Optical Illusion Makeup Looks To Try
Know the right makeup tricks and transform your beauty! It's that simple really! With clever hacks, you can remould facial features, experiment with light, and even sport visual illusions that trick others' eyes!
From simple tweaks to artistic statements, these optical cosmetic hacks will totally reinvent your look!
Faux Freckles For Youthful Radiance
Faux freckles are the best way to show off a sun-kissed look. It will add an instant youthful energy whenever required! Use a light brown eyebrow pencil or a specialized freckle pen and scatter some little dots across the cheeks and nose bridge.
Tap the dots with your fingers and blend slightly. The result? A natural makeup look that gives an inbuilt flush and soft appearance!
Lifted Eyes For Facelift Effect
Lift the eyes with makeup and notice the difference! For that ditch the usual heavy liner and pick a concealer instead! Apply it in the upward diagonal direction, that is to the outer corners of the eyes.
Use the eyeshadow for the eye crease and blend it upward and outward which resembles wings. Apply the liner to the outer corner of the eyelash line and flick it up quickly. This upward hack adds a fox-eye or facelifted appeal!
Nose Contouring To Reshape & Sculpt
Nose contouring is a makeup technique that uses light and shadow. For that, use a cool-shade bronzer or contour stick to create two vertical lines at your nose bridge. Reflect the centre of the nose using a bright concealer. Blend the edges to reshape the nose naturally.
You can even shorten the nose shape by contouring below the nose tip or even narrow the nostrils with two small strokes at the base. This cosmetic trick sculpts the nose without any surgery!
Bigger Lips With Gloss Illusion
A fuller pout is easily achievable with overlining the lips! Simply select a lip liner that is one shade darker than the lip colour. Trace it just below your cupid's bow and outside of the lower lip.
Apply the lip colour within the border lines and dab some gloss at the centre. The fine contrast formed with matte edges and a shiny centre mimics the plump look without fillers!
Reverse Cat Eye For Smouldering Touch
This makeup trend simply reverses the cat-eyes makeup look! This means, that instead of applying the liner at the upper eyelid, just drag it out from the lower lash line and connect it swiftly at the outer corner of the eyes.
It will shift the attention downward and widen the eyes for an unexpected touch. Complement it with a neutral eyeshadow and lash to allow the lower lash line to shine!
3D Face Lift To Strategically Highlight
Strategic highlighting can provide dimension and draw attention to certain aspects. Highlight the inner corners of your eyes, the middle of your chin, the bridge of your nose, the brow bone, and the tops of the cheekbones with a gentle, pearlescent highlighter. This captures the light and makes the face appear lifted and sculpted, especially on days when you are exhausted.
Invisible Liner For Wider Eyes
Tightlining, or outlining the top waterline (the area under the eyelashes) using a black gel pencil, is a subtle technique. It widens the eyes, emphasizes your lash base, and gives the appearance of thicker lashes minus the sharpness of visible liner. Increase the lightening effect by pairing it with white or nude eyeliner on the lower waterline!
