Natural Ingredients To Condition Your Hair At Home

By Super Admin

We always envy people and models when we see them with long and lustrous hair that is free of split ends and damage. The secret to this type of hair is regular conditioning. Yes, conditioning the hair is as important as oiling and shampooing.

Conditioning often gets neglected though. Many women skip out on the conditioning part thinking that it would only be making the hair greasy. The wrong conditioner can indeed make the hair greasy and weigh it down. The right conditioner on the other hand, can even help with detangling the hair.

Shampoo is meant to clean the hair and scalp of all the dirt and oils. But often, shampoo can hamper the natural pH balance of the hair and scalp by stripping it of natural oils. That's where a conditioner comes to the rescue.

In fact, conditioning is a must if you have dry hair and if you colour your hair. The conditioner actually makes the colour in the hair last a lot longer.

But sometimes one runs out of conditioners or maybe we feel that conditioners are too costly or full of chemicals. Not to worry. There are several natural ingredients you can use to condition your hair, and most of these are lying in your kitchen already.

Yogurt:

Yogurt:

Yogurt is an active ingredient in many store bought conditioners. So why not try it in its natural form? Massage yogurt into damp hair and leave it on for 20 minutes. Shampoo as usual after this. This treatment can be done once every week.

Apple cider vinegar:

Apple cider vinegar:

Now, I am sure we all have heard of the multitude of benefits of apple cider vinegar. Its magical properties also have a beneficial effect on our hair. Mix two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar into a mug of cold water. Use this as a final rinse after shampooing your hair. And don't worry, there won't be any smell of it left behind.

Egg yolk:

Egg yolk:

There are so many shampoos and conditioners available in the market with eggs as ingredients. Using eggs on the hair can combat dryness and make the hair shinier. Mix two egg yolks with honey and olive oil and apply this mixture on the hair. Leave it on for 30 minutes or more and then shampoo your hair thoroughly. Shampoo hair with cold water.

Mayonnaise:

Mayonnaise:

Mayonnaise as a conditioner can make hair glossier. Take an entire spoonful or more of mayonnaise and apply it to the entire length of your hair. Leave it on for 20 minutes and wrap up your hair with a shower cap. Wash off as usual.

Coconut milk:

Coconut milk:

Just like we reap the amazing benefits of using coconut oil for scalp massage before hair wash, coconut milk can be used for conditioning the hair. Just coat the entire length of your hair with coconut milk and leave it there for 20-30 minutes, and then shampoo as usual.

Honey:

Honey:

Honey is a great moisturiser for the face and body. But did you know that you can use it on the hair as well? Try to stick to the ends of your hair when you do this trick though, as it can get sticky on the roots. Honey is a great natural conditioner and it provides the hair with a nice shine.

Banana:

Banana:

This amazing fruit that is a great storehouse of energy is great for your hair too! Use this mask if your hair is dry and dull. Start applying the mashed banana at the roots of your hair, slowly moving on to the ends. Put on a shower cap so none of it drips. Wash off with your shampoo as usual.

Milk:

Milk:

Milk can be used as a conditioner to make the hair sleek and straight. It also reduces tangles. Fill a spray bottle with milk and spray it throughout the length of your hair. After this, comb your hair to evenly spread out the milk. Wash off the milk with shampoo.

I hope this post helps you and gets you into the habit of conditioning!
