From Spidery Lashes to Doll Eyebrows: 5 Runway Beauty Trends You Need to Know
Fashion is all about experimentation! And runways offer the ideal platform to showcase the creative flair of the style experts. This year's fashion week continued to push boundaries by presenting daring, experimental beauty trends. From Milan to London, the featured shows offered an abundance of inspiration, ranging from striking retro reinterpretations to bold, futuristic ensembles. Whether it's for a low-key day out or a celebratory event, these trendsetters are ideal for anyone wishing to switch up their beauty game!
Spidery Lashes
During London Fashion Week, Harris Reed's show for Nina Ricci introduced a highly noticeable beauty trend: "Spidery" lashes. Inspired by the aesthetics of the 17th and 18th centuries, this dramatic style turned models into living porcelain dolls. Exaggerated eyelashes, bright eyeshadows, and a dewy, luminous complexion all worked together to reflect the elaborate beauty of that period.

To replicate this, start with a glowing base and use a foundation that leaves your skin looking radiant and dewy. Vibrant eyeshadows in bright pink, orange, and frosty blue can mimic the intensity seen on the runway. For the lashes, go big with a volumizing mascara to get the dramatic, spidery look. Complete the look with a glossy lip. Use soft pink or nude lipstick and top it with gloss to create an oversized cupid's bow.
Doll Eyebrows
The doll-like eyebrows featured in Francesco Risso's Marni show during Milan Fashion Week were another noteworthy trend. The incredibly shadowed eyelids combined with the bizarre, high-arched brows produced a playful yet bizarre look.

Start by emphasizing the eyes with dark, smokey eyeshadows in colours like plum or charcoal to create this daring, avant-garde look. Next, use a pencil to create an exaggerated arch that reaches above your natural brow line to accentuate your eyebrows.
Ombré Lips
Ombré lips emerged as a prominent trend at Ahluwalia's London Fashion Week event, where lips also took on new dimensions. This dramatic makeup trend offers a gradient look that adds depth and visual intrigue to the lips.

To ace this lip colour look, begin by covering the entire lip in a light or neutral foundation colour, like blush pink or light brown. The outside corners of your lips should then be painted with a darker hue, such as deep crimson, bold orange or mystical purple. Create a gentle transition by blending the two colours gently toward the centre. To intensify the gradient effect and add a hint of shine, finish the look with a clear or shimmery lip gloss.
Voluminous Hair
Hairstyles from the 1950s and 1960s ruled the runways, especially during Paul Costelloe's London Fashion Week show. These yesteryear hairdos gave the ensemble a touch of vintage glitter by drawing inspiration from style icons like Brigitte Bardot.

Pick a hair-friendly comb to achieve the voluminous effect. For maximum volume, concentrate on building lift at the top of the head. Use a hairspray to secure everything in place and softly smooth the top layer of hair without sacrificing volume. Finally, wear a headband as an additional throwback accessory.
Embellished Eyes
At Chopova Lowena's show, maximalist makeup brought back the playful, raver-inspired looks of the Y2K era with adorned eyes. The models' eyes were covered with vivid rhinestones, glitter, and other eye-catching details, creating a whimsical yet beautiful beauty style.

To try this trend, gather glitter, rhinestones or sparkly bindis and let your creativity shine. Place the embellishments around your eyes, either framing the eyelids or accenting the outer corners. Pair this with bold eyeshadows in bright or shimmery tones to tie the look together!
