Some great homemade scrubs can best be made with one of the most common ingredients found in our kitchen, which is sugar.

This natural sweetener due to its fine texture helps gently remove the dead skin cells and as it is also a good source of Glycolic acid, it enhances the production of new skin cells ultimately giving you a brighter, softer and smoother skin.

So, in this article, we bring to you 10 such sugar scrub recipes with delicious ingredients that will make you dazzle bright. Do take a look.

1. Vanilla

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3rd cup of olive oil or coconut oil to moisturise the skin
- ¼th tsp of pure vanilla extract for a soothing aroma

Method:
To the 1 cup of sugar, mix coconut oil and vanilla extract and blend well. With a spoon, push the mixture into a soap mold tightly. Leave it in the fridge for a few hours.

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ a cup grated milk soap base for cleansing the skin
- 2 tbsp of coffee grounds to reduce cellulite and stretch marks

Method:
In a double boiler, melt the granulated milk soap and then add the sugar and coffee grounds to the mix. Instantly, press the mixture into the soap mold.

Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 a cup of coconut oil (for a radiant glow)
- 8-10 drops of peppermint essential oil (to give a calm soothing effect)

Method:
Mix the given quantity of ingredients and press it into the soap mold and leave it for a few days before taking it out.

Ingredients
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- ¼th cup of coconut oil (moisturises the skin, for anti-ageing)
- 10 capsules of natural activated charcoal (brightens and removes dirt)
- ½ a cup of grated soap (cleanser)

Method:
Melt the grated soap in a double boiler and coconut oil together in a double boiler, remove and then add activated charcoal and stir. Now add the granulated sugar. Press the mixture in the soap mold and leave it in the fridge for 4 hours.

- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ a cup of Goat's milk soap base (grated)
- ¼th cup of almond oil (moisturises and gives the skin an amazing glow)
- 20 drops of lemon essential oil for a fresh aroma

Method:
Melt the soap in a double boiler and add almond oil. Remove from heat and add sugar and the essential oil. Leave it in the refrigerator for an hour.

Ingredients
- ¼th cup of cucumber puree (soothing to skin and reduces pigmentation)
- ¾th cup of granulated sugar
- 2 tbsp of coconut oil (softened)

Method:
Mix the ingredients and blend them well, press in molds and refrigerate.

- ½ a cup of Goat's milk soap base (grated)
- ¼th almond oil (moisturises, nourishes and leaves the skin radiant)
- 1 cup granulated sugar

Method:
Melt the granulated soap in a double boiler and add almond oil. Remove from heat and add sugar. Leave in refrigerator for an hour.

Ingredients
- ½ a cup of Shea butter soap base (grated)
- ½ a cup of Shea butter (moisturiser and anti-inflammatory)
- 1 cup granulated sugar

Method:
Melt the grated soap in a double boiler and add Shea butter. Remove from heat and add sugar. Leave in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours.

- ½ a cup of coconut oil
- 1 cup of granulated sugar

Method:
Simply mix the two ingredients and press in the mold.

10. Essential Oil Infused

Ingredients
- ½ a cup of coconut oil
- 1 cup of granulated sugar
- 20 drops of essential oil (your choice)

Method:
Simply mix the two ingredients and press in the mold. You could even add your favourite essential oil for that added aroma and nourishment.
