Why Sunscreen Is Not Good For The Monsoon?
Sunscreen lotion is usually used to protect the skin from the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun. This will help in blocking the rays and its harmful effects on the skin. This will protect your skin from sun burn, tan, age spots and fine lines. It is necessary to apply sunscreen lotion as part of your daily routine as this will help your skin from all the harmful rays of the sun.
Sunscreen is usually used during the sunny days or the off-wet monsoon season. During the monsoon season, care should be taken not to use the regular sunscreen, but a particular monsoon season sunscreen.

Using sunscreen on a cloudy day will protect your skin from the UV rays that penetrate through the clouds. So basically, sunscreen is not protection from the sun, but from the UV Rays that are emitted from the sun.
There are various risks of using sunscreen in monsoon, if you are not using the right type of sunscreen. Care must be taken to use the right kind of sunscreen. Following are the tips to use sunscreen and the reasons as to why sunscreen is not good on a rainy day.
Using the right amount of SPF content
The SPF (Sun Protective Factor) content is used to protect the skin from the UV rays. During the monsoon, you should be able to decide the amount of SPF that is required. Sometimes, a small quantity is all that is required whereas on a sunny day, the SPF content in your sunscreen should be more. SPF content is also available in moisturiser.
Type of sunscreen
There are various risks of using sunscreen in monsoon. The normal type of sunscreen used during the summer cannot be used during the monsoon season. A more gel type sunscreen needs to be used. This will help the sunscreen to stick on to the skin and it will not be wiped off easily because of all the sweat during the humid season.
Water Resistant Sunscreen
Another reason why sunscreen is not good on a rainy day is that it needs to be water resistant. There are sunscreens that are not water resistant and they can be used in the summer. Water resistant sunscreen will help protect the skin even when you get wet in the rain.
Applying Sunscreen
One of the risks of using sunscreen in monsoon is when you are not sure how much to apply. There are different quantities that are required at different times. During the summer, more amount of sunscreen is required than during the rainy season. The main aim should be protection from the UV rays from the sun.
All Seasons
Make sunscreens your best friend during all seasons. People who do not use sunscreens tend to get cancer than those who don’t. Reasons sunscreen is not good during the rainy season can be many. But, skin care is absolutely necessary in all seasons and using UV protection is also required.
