Home Remedies For Dry Nails
Dry nails can be a major problem for women who love long nails. Dry nails can be followed up with brittleness and the nails can peel off too. We think that nails dry due to nail polish and other chemical products. However, improper nail care is also one of the major causes of dry and brittle nails. Nail looks dry and rough when they lose the moisture and when too much chemical products like nail polish is applied.
Instead of going to a parlour and wasting money on dry nails treatment, you can treat them at home with some natural remedies. Here are few simple home remedies that can work wonders to get rid of dry nails naturally.
Home remedies for dry nails:

Almond Oil: This is one of the well-known home remedies to treat dry and brittle nails naturally. Massage your nails and fingers with almond oil. Apart from moisturising the nails, the oil will also keep the skin moisturised. Apply olive oil after taking shower and before going to bed.
Olive Oil: Olive oil is another effective home remedy to treat dry and brittle nails. Apply olive oil on the nails and cuticles. Massage for 5 minutes and then scrub off dead skin cells from the cuticles. It is one of the best ways to clean and maintain shiny and moisturised nails.
Petroleum jelly: You can massage the dry nails with petroleum jelly to make it soft. The jelly also prevents the nail from peeling and chipping off.
Shea butter cream: It is another effective home remedy to get rid of dry and brittle nails naturally. Apply shea butter on the nails and leave for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water and follow up with a moisturiser. Shea butter also strengthens the nails and prevents it from peeling off. Moreover, it is also used for nail care as it brings the shiny white glow. Apply it once or twice in a day (make sure you do it before going to bed) so that the remedy works!
Avoid harsh soaps: If you use harsh soap or hand wash, your nails will become dry as the natural moisture is drained away while washing. Prefer herbal soap and hand wash to prevent the side effects of harsh chemicals on the nails and skin.
Moisturise: Make sure you moisturise your nails every day. This is one important nail care tip that works wonders. Moisturising your palms and feet also softens the skin and prevents it from becoming dry and rough.
