The signs of death find mention in the Shiva Purana. According to the Shiva Purana, once Goddess Parvati asked Lord Shiva about the signs of death. How can one know that he/she is going to die? Change In The Colour Of The Skin
When the skin colour of the person turns pale yellow or white and a bit red, it indicates that the person is going to die within six months.
Inability To See Reflection
When a person is unable to see his/her own reflection in the water or mirror, it means that the person will die within six months.
Everything Seems Black
When a person starts seeing everything as black, it indicates that the person is going to die soon.
Twitching Left Hand
When a person's left hand keeps twitching for a week, it means that the person will live only for a month more.
Hardened Sense Organs
It is said that if a person's sense organs become as hard as stone, it means that he/she will die within six months.
Inability To See Certain Lights
When a person is not able to see the light emitted from the moon, sun or the fire, it indicates that the person will die soon.
A Swollen Tongue
If the tongue of the person suddenly starts to swell and gums start secreting pus, then it is believed the person would not live long.
Inability To See The Pole Star
When a person is not able to see the pole star in the sky, it means that the person will die within six months.
Reddened Sun, Moon And Sky
If a person starts seeing the sun, moon and the sky as red in colour, it indicates that the person will die soon.
Dreaming About An Owl
If a person dreams of an owl or sees a vacant and destroyed village, then his/her death is near.
