Sleep Problems

The caffeine present in green tea is also responsible for various effects of anxiety and sleep. It blocks the sleep-inducing chemicals in the brain and increases the adrenaline production.

Irregular Heartbeat:

Caffeine in green tea causes an irregular heartbeat. It stimulates the heart muscles to contract when at rest. This could also further result in cardiovascular disorders.

Diarrhoea:

Diarrhoea is another side effect of having green tea in excess. The laxative effect of caffeine stimulates the colon muscles to contract and relax, which results in an increased need to excrete out the waste, sometimes leading to conditions like diarrhoea.
