Best Remedies For Droopy Eyelids
As we all grow older, we have to deal with aging skin. Aging or other underlying medical conditions can cause eyelids to droop. There are some natural remedies for droopy eyes that are cheap and easily accessible.
The main cause for droopy eyelids or ptosis is skin aging. Aging reduces the elasticity of the skin around the eyes, causing the eyelids to sag.
Side Effects Of Botox Injections
Hereditary factors, migraine and other diseases can also cause droopy eyelids. Sagging of the eyelids can even occur at birth and very rarely tumours of the brain or eye area can cause droopy eyelids.
Droopy eyelids can occur on both sides or on one side only. The sagging of eyelids at times causes the eyelids to rest on the eyelashes, making you seem old and tired.
Do You Know These Common Headache Types?
The treatment for droopy eyelids depends on the severity of the condition. The treatment for droopy eyelids ranges from natural home remedies to surgery.
Some natural remedies for droopy eyelids are as follows.

Egg White Mask
To prevent your eyelids from drooping, dab a small amount of egg white onto your eyelids. This lifts and tightens the skin around the eyelids and reduces the droopy effect. Even though it is a temporary relief from sagging, long-term use will increase the elasticity of the skin.
Cucumber
Cucumber not only helps your skin to stay healthy, but also makes your skin smooth and glowing and has anti-inflammatory properties. Ascorbic acid and caffeic acid present in cucumber reduces swelling and keeps the skin hydrated.
Green Tea
The anti-inflammatory properties of the polyphenols present in green tea reduce skin damage from the sun. High concentration of green tea when taken orally or topically promotes the elasticity of the skin. Hence, to some extent droopy eyelids can be prevented.

Chamomile Tea
Oral or Topical application of chamomile tea can make your skin smooth and soft. Keep a cotton pad dipped in chamomile tea over your eyes for about 20 minutes. This will give a calming and soothing effect to your eyes.
Avoid Smoking, Alcohol & Coffee
Smoking and consuming alcohol affects not only the skin but also can cause many other diseases. Smoking causes aging, which in turn makes your eyelids to sag. Drinking too much coffee can also cause droopy eyelids.

Ice Eye Mask
Roll an ice-cube over the eyelids for a few minutes. This constricts the blood vessels and the cooling effect often reduces inflammation of the eyelids.
Eye Exercises
Place your finger under the eyebrows and slowly lift it. Hold on for 10 seconds and then release your skin. This is one of the best remedies for droopy eyelids.

Proper Hydration
Less intake of fluids is one of the reasons for droopy eyes. So, drink plenty of water and juices to keep your skin hydrated. Also, try to reduce the intake of salt.
Stay Away From Direct Sunlight
Being out in the sun for a long time, dampens the structure of your skin and causes premature aging. This causes the eyelids to sag. Hence, protect your skin using sunscreen cream before going out.

Proper Sleep
Lack of proper sleep makes your eyes look stressed out and fatigued. Sleep for at least 6 hours daily to reduce the sagging of the eyelids.
Remember, staying healthy with proper hydration and exercises is the best treatment for droopy eyelids.
