valentines day cookies – Valentine Day Gift Basket

Ingredients :

1. 1 1/2 cup flour (all-purpose)

2. 1/2 tsp baking powder

3. Pinch of salt

4. 1/2 cup sugar

5. 1/3 cup vegetable shortening (cooking fat)

6. 1 egg

7. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

8. Pinch of cinnamon

9. 1/4 cup hard cinnamon candies (crushed)

Method :

1. In a bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well and keep aside.

2. In another bowl, beat sugar and shortening until fluffy. Then add egg, vanilla, cinnamon and beat well. Add flour mixture; mix well. Refrigerate 2 hours or until firm.

3. Cut the dough in any shape of choice garnishing with colorful candies.

4. Bake in a 375°F oven for 10 to 12 minutes or until candy is melted and cookies are done.

5. Bake for 10 to 15 minutes and set aside the pan to cool. Tasty valentines day cookies ready to serve.
