Red is the traditional colour that is most commonly worn by the Indian Bride. Some communities also make the bride-wear green or yellow. However, red is the dominant bridal colour in Indian traditions. But the modern Indian bride is hardly tied down by traditional bonds. Nowadays, the bride is free to choose almost any colour for wedding day except black which is universally considered the colour of mourning.

Here are the bridal colours that are most fashionable right now. If you are a bride to be, then consider these colours while choosing your trousseau.

White is the universally accepted bridal colour but an Indian bride seldom wears white. This is because white is associated with widows in India. However, bridal fashion trends are changing the traditional rules. Bollywood actress Chitrangada Singh donned an ivory white Tarun Tahiliani creation in the ongoing Aamby Valley Bridal Fashion Week. Chitrangada has the perfect dusky Indian complexion and white looks more than perfect on her.

Sonakshi's Give Me Red Lehenga:

If you want to make it red, the contemporary colour of tradition, then follow Sonakshi Sinha. She look sizzling hot in a red and pink lehenga designed by Jyotsna Tiwari. This is a perfect look of a contemporary Indian bride with hair let loose, perfect Indian makeup and a heavy necklace. Sonakshi walked the ramp at the Aamby Valley Brididal Fashion Week as a showstopper.

Bipasha As A 'Golden' Era Bride:

Another notable collection launched at the Bridal Fashion Week by Anjalee and Arjun Kapoor was labelled the 'Mughal Opera'. Bipasha Basu walked the ramp for these designers in a lehenga designed using the Mughal motifs. This outfit had Persian-looking frills and a plethora of colours. However, the dominant colour that could be seen all over is golden. Bipasha was quite the golden girl as this bridal colour fired her complexion.
