Yoga Gets Popular Among American Athletes
Its been reported that many Americans athletes have taken up Yoga practices.
Chicago (USA) media, has it as reportedly as said by Ray Lewis, famous American football linebacker from Baltimore Ravens, "I'm talking about an hour-and-a-half yoga classes at times. And the crazy part about it is, once you actually get into it a good two or three times, you really miss if you don't do it. It stretches you that much."
Super Bowl Most Valuable Player Award winner, the first linebacker to win on the winning Super Bowl team has been practising Yoga in the off season for the past two to three years.
Yoga actually complements the athletic training. Yoga helps in improving flexibility and functional strength, building muscle energy and stamina, preventing sports injuries, dealing with stress, overcoming back pain, improving breathing and focusing, increasing endurance, etc. Hence it is been adopted by many sportsman to enhance their performance.
Acclaimed Hindu statesman Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA) exposed the spiritual dimension, the ultimate end of Yoga to the athletes. This is the merging of the human soul with the universal soul. He thus invited the athletes to explore this dimension of Yoga, apart from it being a physical and mental discipline .
