Prasads For The Mother Goddess On Each Day Of Navratri

The festival of Navratri is one of the most important festivals that is celebrated by the Hindu community. This festival is all the more important to the devotees of Mother Goddess. The festival of Navratri lasts for nine days. Each day is dedicated to a different form of the Mother Goddess, or in other words, Goddess Durga.

Each of the Navadurgas has a unique personality and set of characteristics. To please the Navadurgas, the devotees offer specific items to them. They wear clothes of certain colour and offer food items and flowers as per the tastes and likings of the respective form of the Goddess.

The Prasad Offering To Goddess Shailputri

The first night of the Navratri belongs to the Goddess Shailputri. It is celebrated every year on the Shukla Paksha of Pratipada. The Goddess is offered pure ghee. The pure ghee is poured on the Goddess's feet. Doing this ensures that the devotee is blessed with a life that is free of diseases and afflictions.

The Prasad Offering To Goddess Brahmacharini

The second day of the Navratri celebration is dedicated to the Goddess Brahmacharini. The celebrations are held on the dwitiya tithi of the Ashwin month. This form of the Mother Goddess is dedicated to the acetic form of Goddess Parvati. It is in this form that Goddess Parvati performed penance to receive Lord Shiva as her husband again. The most common way to worship her is by fasting.

You may offer sugar as a prasad to Goddess Brahmacharini. Doing so ensures long life for the members of your family.

The Prasad Offering To Goddess Chandraghanta

The Goddess Chandraghanta is worshipped on the third day of the Navratri festival. The day is that of the tritiya tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin. The moon is seen as a half crescent and is often depicted as such on the head of the Goddess.

People worship the Goddess Chandraghanta to escape from all the worldly pains. Sweets made of milk and pure milk are offered to the Goddess on this day. The Brahmans are fed and they are given a dakshina. All this pleases the Goddess and the devotee is blessed with happiness and joy.

The Prasad For Goddess Kushmanda

The fourth day of the festival of Navratri is spent worshipping Goddess Kushmanda. It is believed that it was from the abdomen of Goddess Kushmanda that the whole universe sprung forth.

Devotees fast on this day and worship the Goddess Kushmanda to be free of all diseases and pain.

Malpua is considered to be the favorite offering to Goddess Kushmanda. The offering of malpua sweet brings the devotees wisdom and intellect.

The Prasad Offering For Goddess Skanda Mata

The Mother Goddess is worshipped as Skanda Mata on the fifth night of Navratri. Skanda Mata or the mother of Lord Kartikeya is a beautiful form of the Mother Goddess. In this form, the Goddess fulfills all the wishes of the devotees.

Bananas are the most preferred prasad offering to Goddess Skanda Mata. This offering brings blessings of the Goddess and the devotee leads a healthy life.

The Prasad Offering For Goddess Katyayani

The Mother Goddess is worshipped in the form of Goddess Katyayani on the sixth day. It was in this form that the Mother Goddess was born to the Sage Katyayan as a reward of his penance.

To please the Goddess Katyayani, offer her a prasad of honey. Doing so makes the devotees more beautiful and attractive.

Goddess Kaalaratri is a ferocious form of the Mother Goddess and is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri. The Mother Goddess removes all obstacles and evils.

To please the Goddess Kaalaratri, offer her a prasad of jaggery. Offering jaggery to the Goddess will ease and remove any kind of pain that the devotee may have.

On the eighth day of Navratri the Mother Goddess is worshipped as Goddess Mahagauri. People worship the Goddess Mahagauri to attain success in all aspects of life.

Coconut is the most favoured offering to the Goddess Mahagauri. The coconut can also be donated to the Brahmans. Doing the above will help childless couples be blessed with good offsprings.

The Goddess Siddhidatri is worshipped on the last day of Navratri. She fulfill all kinds of wishes that her devotees may have.

Til is the most popular offering made to the Goddess. People also fast on this day to please the Goddess Siddhidatri. This offering helps the devotee be free from the fear of death or any untoward incident.
