Love Is Not Everything In A Relationship

By Staff

Isolation
It's the story of Reema and Sujit – both soon-to-be married couple. They will tie their knot in a months time, finally giving a shape to their seven-year-old relationship, the strongest bond of all: husband and wife. Their story goes back to the engineering days, when they met each other in of the college functions. Reema's parents, a Brahmin, initially were quite reluctant with the wedding, but, finally had to give way to their only daughter's wish. Just like a lot of the other parents do.

Reema's family has got nothing to worry. Sujit is handsome, well qualified with a stable job, decent, polite, and he has got everything that a brides family would ask for. Today, the only worry that haunts this Brahmin family is with Sujit. What if some thing miserable happens with their love? What if Sujit changes? What if their love comes down? Questions that's been bothering Reema's parents.

No, they are not to be blamed. They have seen Reema's friend, Lucy, in the similar shoes. Lucy was happily married till a few months back when some thing bizarre happened. Today, she curses the day she had met her hubby, Rohan. They are divorced.

It's not just a story of this Brahmin family. Parents' main cause of apprehension is with the word 'love'. They fear that with the pass of time, the so called 'love', too, fades out.

This has been the main problem with relationship. It's a bond and not just a commitment, and one should admit this. Today, people feel that they need to give a lot of the time to understand each other well. Any hasty decision may cost them a lot. Boys are fussy, fickle minded, and many are too easy when it comes to a committed relationship. Everything looks beautiful when one starts off with a relationship. The very thought of the time spent together, or the date ahead lingers onto his mind all the time.

He finds you in everything he sees. You are there all around. But, soon, this changes. Everything. Silpi has recently seen her room mate breaking up with her beau. She now lives an isolated life. The problem, she says, was with the boy. "My roomie stays home most of the time. She has broken up with her guy last month". "He started acting weird lately. He would hardly give time to meet her." Sikh, who works for an outsource company says, adding to the point: "Everything look beautiful when you start a relationship, but it doesn't remain the same later. I have seen it myself and I would never like to go back and stand at the same crossroad again." Expectation seems to be another reason that vandalizes these relationships.

When some body is in a relationship, it's obvious that expectations come. "All of us expect, especially when it comes to that special person. So, it hurts when I see things not working out," says Preemi. Many who are in a relationship feel that understanding plays an important part, and that both the partners should try their best to understand each other well. "One needs to have a lot of understanding before they take their relationship farther. It's the most essential part in a committed relationship," says Priya. So, how does man opine on this. "It's important to know each other well before you decide on a relationship. All of us want things to work out in the right way," says Abhijit.

All that girls ask for is a bit of caring and support. And this, after all, is a decision to be spending an entire life together. So, guys, if you are already in a relationship, better make it a point that you understand your girl well. Don't give her fairy dreams and latter be the one to break it. And for those who are yet to be in one, make sure that you are ready for a committed life, because life, at the end, has to be lived by two: you and the one you love.
