Serves: 1 small bowl

Ingredients
  • Garlic cloves (peeled) - 1 small bowl

    Salt to taste

    Water - 4 tbsp

    Oil - 3 tbsp

    Asafoetida (hing) - a pinch

    Tomato puree - 1 small bowl

    Turmeric powder - 1 tsp

    Kashmiri chilli powder - 3 tsp

    Coriander powder - 3 tsp

How to Prepare
  • 1. Add garlic cloves, salt and water into a mixer jar and grind it into a smooth consistency.

    2. Add oil to a heated pan. Further, add asafoetida and the ground garlic paste to it.

    3. Saute the mixture for about 3-4 minutes at high flame.

    4. Pour the tomato puree and allow it to cook until the oil floats on top.

    5. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder and stir well for about 2-3 minutes. Turn off the stove and transfer the garlic chutney into a serving bowl.

  • 1. You can use dried red chillies instead of the kashmiri chilli powder to give the chutney a more spicy punch.
