We often confuse the terms quality with quantity. Career-oriented women are considered to be bad care givers because they spend a lot of time away from their children.

However, a fact that is not well known is that many of the successful career-oriented women have happy and well-adjusted children.

Irrespective of whether you are a single mother or have a partner, chances are that the sole responsibility of preparing your child for school and cooking comes on your shoulders.

If you do have a partner, then asking him for help might work. However, if you are running a one-man show, then striking the right balance might seem to be a tough task at first.

We all need some guidance and suggestions from time to time, even if we actually have our act together.

If you are a career-oriented woman and want to know how can you can continue to be a good care giver, then continue reading.

Listed below are some of the tried-and-tested techniques that can help you manage your work life and home life with ease.

Take Care Of Your Health: You only take care of your family when you are well nourished and well rested. Have a hearty breakfast and you will have the energy to overcome the obstacles the day brings to you.

Getting a minimum of 7 hours of sleep every night will help you to stay calm, composed and prevent you from being on the edge.

Stay Connected Remotely: It is not possible for you to be with your children all the time. You have to be at work and your kids have to be at school. Young children tend to miss their parents more than teenagers.

If your child is younger than 11 years old, then staying connected though chats, voice notes, sharing of songs and images is a good solution. If you prefer to call your child, ensure that your calls do not interfere with his/her class schedule.

Give Your Child Privacy: There is a fine line between being friendly with your kids and being overbearing. Kids close to adolescence might feel that being connected is a way for you to keep a track of their activities.

Teenagers have a stronger self of privacy and do not like to keep their parents in their inner circle. If such a situation arises, then give your children their space, step back at least for a little while.

Be Organised Every Day: Being organised by packing your child's bag is an efficient way of avoiding time wastage in the morning. Giving your child a mix of different breakfast foods during the week can help him/her get the needed nutrition.

To save time on weekdays, purchase vegetables over the weekend, season them and store them in air-tight containers.

Cooking large batches of food for yourself, thrice a week, storing in air-tight containers and re-heating when needed can help you save some time.

To ensure that you are not late for work, keep your handbag organised, avoid changing handbags often and keep your office clothes ready for the next day.
