For example, avocado has potassium and mono-saturated fats that stabilises blood pressure and reduce stress.
Avoid preservatives: Preservatives and colouring in foods disrupts the normal functioning of the nervous system and this affects the adrenaline. Avoid preservatives and artificial sweeteners as they affect the blood sugar levels too.
Balance blood sugar: Hyperactive kids eat more sugar than others. This increases glucose in the body and raised glucose levels keeps the kid active. Increased body metabolism is not the only problem. Balancing blood sugar levels is good for the overall health of the child and prevents diabetes too.
So what to include? Calming fruits like peaches, mangoes, berries, oranges, freshly cut veggies like celery sticks, baby carrots, cabbage and cauliflower are foods that you must include in hyperactive kids diet. Low fat yogurt, cottage cheese must also be included in the diet. Fibre rich cereals and whole grains are also good for hyperactive kids.
