What Is Unexplained Infertility?
Not getting pregnant even after repeated attempts could be a sign of infertility. And today, the cases of infertility are increasing due to many factors.
Firstly, the sperm counts of men today are much lesser than the men of the previous generation. Added to that, the stressful lifestyles of today have also contributed to the infertility of many couples.
Some couples who postpone pregnancy till middle age may need to blame the age-related degeneration for the infertility.
When a couple doesn't get pregnant, they may try to consult a doctor to know the reason behind the infertility. In most of the cases, the reasons could be detected.
When the reason is detected, the solution can be found out and that could increase the chances of getting pregnant. But what if the reasons behind the infertility cannot be detected even by the doctors?

Yes, there are some infertility cases which even the doctors cannot crack. Such a condition is known as unexplained infertility. Here are some facts about the condition.

What Is Unexplained Infertility?
It is nothing but a case in which even the doctor fails to pin-point the actual reason behind the infertility.
If your doctor is unable to identify any reason even after several tests and examinations then it could possibly be due to unexplained infertility. You may need treatment to overcome the condition.

Is This A Common Issue?
Out of every 100 cases of infertility, nearly 30 tend to fall in the category of unexplained infertility. This problem is more common in women. In a majority of the men, the reason behind the infertility could be identified. So, a small percentage of men also suffer from unexplained infertility.

Why Can't The Reason Be Diagnosed?
Well, currently the testing methods are capable of finding out only the major infertility conditions.
Other minor reasons that could reduce the fertility rate cannot be easily identified by the current procedures. In fact, even the egg quality matters a lot and poor quality could be a cause behind infertility.

What Causes Unexplained Infertility?
Do you know what causes this problem? It is not easy to know the reasons behind the unexplained infertility but health experts have come up with the medical conditions that could cause unexplained infertility.
There are three main conditions that could cause unexplained infertility. They are: immunological infertility, endometriosis and premature ovarian ageing.

What Is Immunological Infertility?
Immunological infertility is the reason behind 20% of the unexplained fertility cases. When the body's immune system attacks the cells of the reproductive areas perceiving them as foreign bodies then it is known as immunological infertility. Sadly, in such a case, one's own immune system is responsible for the infertility.

What Is Endometriosis?
More than 30% of the unexplained fertility cases are due to endometriosis. It is nothing but an abnormal cell growth outside the uterus which could result in pain. Pelvic pain could be a sign of this condition.
Consult a gynecologist to get yourself tested if you experience pelvic pain and are unable to get pregnant.

What Is Premature Ovarian Ageing?
More than 50% of the unexplained infertility cases are said to be due to premature ovarian ageing. This kind of a problem occurs mainly in women who are in their forties.
Actually, women who wish to postpone pregnancy generally freeze their eggs but the success rate of such procedures is still not 100%.

Who Should Get Tested?
Women who have suffered several miscarriages or IVF failures may need to get tested. In fact, anyone who is unable to get pregnant after repeated attempts may need to go for the test.
It is better to visit a hi-tech medical testing facility or a fertility clinic to get the relevant tests or examinations done.

What Are The Chances Of Getting Pregnant?
When a person is suffering from unexplained infertility, the probability of getting pregnant is very low. The chances of pregnancy is only 1% which is very less. This condition should not be ignored as the chances of getting pregnant may totally decline with each passing year if nothing is done to treat it.

What Helps Unexplained Infertility?
For most of the cases, certain treatment methods may work. The treatment could involve taking pills regularly and timing the intercourse carefully. In most of the cases, the problem could be solved with the help of the current treatment methods. Therefore, couples should not think twice to talk to a doctor. Consult a health practitioner to know further.
