Benefits Of Using Essential Oil In Pregnancy

Many of the pregnant women have this question if it is safe to use essential oil during the pregnancy phase or not.

Well, according to experts, using essential oil during pregnancy is extremely safe and, in fact, it has its own benefits for the skin.

However, as per experts, you should not use essential oil during the first trimester of the baby's development, but you can use it in the second trimester.

So, check out the benefits of using essential oil during the second trimester of pregnancy and so on.

1. Helps To Relieve Heartburn

One biggest concern in a pregnant woman is heartburn and indigestion. It happens due to the loss of appetite and uneasiness that a woman faces during pregnancy. However, in order to relieve heartburn and maintain a proper digestion in the pregnant mommies, they could choose to use ginger, peppermint or fennel essential oil.

However, you will need to tolerate the essential oil on the tongue, as it will relieve nausea. One more idea to use peppermint essential oil is, it can be added to milk (2-3 drops) and consumed on alternate days.

2. Helps To Treat Morning Sickness

Morning sickness is one of the biggest problems that a pregnant woman may suffer from in all the nine months of pregnancy. Take some sandalwood, lavender and ginger oil and dilute it with coconut water. Now massage with this mixture on your abdomen.

You can also add 2-3 drops of fennel, ginger or lemon with honey and rub it at the bottom of your feet. You can also use some peppermint oil or grapefruit essential oil, as it will help to wake you up early in the morning.

3. Helps To Treat Insomnia

Several essential oils such as lavender, ylang-ylang, cedar wood, sweet marjoram, roman chamomile, sandalwood and vanilla bean can help to restore the night's sleep.

You can put these essential oils in use to treat insomnia completely. You can rub a drop of essential oil below the pillow or rub some oil at the bottom of your feet. Using these oils can help to give you proper rest and assure a good sleep of at least 6 hours.

4. Treats Backaches And Leg Aches

A backache and leg ache are quite a popular one. However, an essential oil helps to rejuvenate the muscles of your legs and hands and alleviate pain when massaged.

You should choose to put two to three drops of essential oil in you bathing water and then bath with this water. The blend of any five essential oils such as wintergreen, helichrysum, basil, peppermint, German chamomile grapefruit, cypress, camphor, marjoram, and osmanthus can be used to treat body and leg pain.

5. Eases Labour Pain

Labour pain can be one of the biggest concerns during pregnancy; and proper use of essential oil can help to alleviate this pain.

Take lavender and clary sage oils and take two spoons of bath salt, so that it can help calm down the labour pain. You can mix 2 drops of the blend of the essential oils for pregnant moms of clary sage, lavender, bergamot, Roman chamomile, cedarwood, ylang-ylang, fennel, carrot seed, geranium, palmarosa and vitex in 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil.

Then, massage with this mixture on your hips and massage your bottom of the feet and abdomen. This will allow enhancing the uterine contraction.
