According to the World Health Organization, malaria is the most common infectious disease in the world.

The drugs known as arteminsinin and piperaquine were known to be the best treatments for the mosquito-borne illness.
But scientists are now seeing resistance to these drugs by patients residing in certain parts of the world. This they assert to be one of the greatest threats to the control and elimination of malaria.
This can be a potential threat. The disease still kills more than 4,20,000 people each year worldwide.
On the wake of this incident, we have listed some of the top ways to prevent malaria. Read further to know more about the malaria prevention and control methods.
1. Determine Whether You're At Risk:
In case you're travelling to a country with high rates of malaria, then it is important to take precautions. Malaria is preventable if you take the right medication, before, during and after exposure to dangerous mosquitoes. This is one of the best tips to prevent malaria.
2. Get A Prescription For Malaria Pills:
There is no vaccine for malaria. Instead, your doctor will prescribe the same type of medicine to treat malaria. You need to take it the entire time when you're at risk of malaria.
3. Prevent Mosquito Bites:
It is necessary to stay in screened quarters or ones with air-conditioning around. Stay away from stagnant water, since it is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. This is one of the best ways to prevent malaria.
4. See A Doctor If You Experience Any Of The Symptoms:
If you feel sick during or after travel and are worried if you're exposed to malaria, then you must see the doctor right away. It is important to get the treatment as soon as possible. Some of the symptoms are high fever, shaking, chills, profuse sweating, headache, vomiting, diarrhoea, etc.

See the doctor right away if you experience flu-like symptoms that could be symptoms of malaria. Even if you have returned, you could still be at risk.
