Valentine's Day Celebrations In A Leap Year

By Super

Valentine's Day Celebrations
Valentine's day in 2008 has a special significance falling in a Leap Year. Those who have read "Just-a-Pause – Look Before You Leap" will understand why. Here, let me enlighten the uninitiated. A leap year is supposed to give every woman the chance to pop the question to Mr. Right. Are you going to take advantage of this ancient tradition? No offence to the men, but we are all aware that they occasionally need a shove in the right direction and who better than we gentle women to give that 'ever so gentle shove'?

Firstly girl, you are not alone. Monica proposed to Chandler in "Friends". I'm not really familiar with the popular Saas Bahu Serials but we would surely have some feisty ones there too.

Secondly, please do not go down on your knees...it would look kind of strange...right? Besides, you might find him looking down your err…. We don't him to be distracted now...do we?

Thirdly, make sure he is emotionally available before proposing. You would not want the rose to wilt, before it gets a chance to bloom.

It is common knowledge that men and women are from different planets. However, recently NASA has published snap-shots of a womanly shape found on Mars. But hey…is it not said that Men are from Mars and Women are from Venus? Guess things are changing…

And so is the meaning of Valentine's Day. It is now all about giving gifts or going out for a fancy romantic dinner. The more expensive means a deeper love? Hey! Be real, guys. Those are the ones you want to keep away from if you want to protect your pockets.

Besides, these restaurants are like packed, with people waiting outside ready to occupy your seat as soon as you are handed the bill. And what is more, some of the couples are so grim faced and do not even speak to each other...wet blankets so to speak. Disappointed?

On the other hand, it's a day to profess true love and not to prove your financial standing in society. For more economical ideas, you can say I Love You in various languages now available on the internet; with one site trying to outdo the other with more innovative stuff. Leave love notes in the most unexpected places. It does not matter where you leave it, it is what's in the note that matters. Write a poem or a reason why you love your partner or say sorry for something you did, do whatever works for you.

Flowers, in particular, have a deeper meaning. The color of flowers, which you present as Valentine's gifts for her, can show her how you really feel. For instance, the classic red rose is a symbol of romantic love. If you give someone a purple rose, this means that you fell in love with him or her at first sight. Yellow roses mean friendship and joy, while coral and orange roses can symbolize desire.
