Minorities Rights Day 2020: History And Significance Of This Day In India
Every year, 18 December is observed as the Minorities Day in India. The day is observed by the National Commission of India. The Minorities Day focusses on celebrating the better, harmony and respect for the people belonging to the minority communities. Today we are here to tell you more about this day in detail.
History
It was on 18 December 1992 when the United Nations (UN) adopted and broadcast the statement on the right of an individual belonging to Linguistic and/or Ethnical Minorities. The broadcast by the UN focussed on the religious linguistics, national and cultural identities of people belonging to the minority group.it highlighted that these identities should be preserved, protected and respected by the countries these people reside in.
