Wyclef Jean Campaigning For Haiti President

Black Eyed Pea Singer Wyclef Jean is going to take a drift from his musical career and is considering to run for president of his native Haiti.

The haitian American multi platinium recording artist and record producer , 37, has said that the talk of an official campaign is still premature, but the country''s locals had "drafted" him into politics.
"I can''t sing forever," Jean was quoted as saying.

He has already set foot and filled out the necessary paperwork in case he decided to move forward with a campaign as per records of the Canadian newspaper 'Le Droit'.

A statement that was released by his foundation, Yele Haiti, read: "Wyclef''s commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless, and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward. At this time, Wyclef Jean has not announced his intent to run for Haitian president. If and when a decision is made, media will be alerted immediately."

Haiti''s current president, Rene Preval, has reached at his term limits and therfore he cannot run a third time as 'president.' The elections will be held on the 28th in the month of November.
Adding to his port folio for his country, we all know that Jean has always been an outspoken advocate for the Caribbean country in which he was born, and was one of the first celebs to travel to Haiti after the devastating earthquake took place in the month of January.
