Shane Warne Spends $ 3.35 M On Sandringham Home

It's recession, and few people tend to spend double the money to combat the situation - Shane Warne seems to be one of them. Shane Warne has reportedly paid a whopping 3.35 million dollars for a property in the Melbourne suburb of Sandringham, on Port Phillip Bay.

It is believed that Warne and former wife Simone Callahan planned to build a family home on the property following reports their roller coaster relationship had been revived, reports the Sydney Morning Herald. While the split-level brick home will be demolished, Warne is believed to have plans to sub-divide and develop the 2600-square-metre site.

Warne has made a series of property deals in Brighton over the past decade. He paid 3.7 million dollars for a Park Street property in 2007, then built a three-level residence with tennis court, pool and cubby house for his children.

Callahan lives nearby, but has also proved a savvy property investor. Last year, she sold a development in Brighton for 4 million dollars, after buying the land for less than 2 million dollars in 2006.
