1. Egg Shells:
Lizards are repelled by the smell of eggs, and thus keeping a few egg shells around the doors and windows or few other places in the house will prevent them from entering and it'll keep them away.
The smell of garlic is also repellant to lizards. Hang cloves of garlic or spray some garlic juice around the house to keep these ugly lizards away from your home.
3. Small Balls Of Coffee And Tobacco Powder:
Make small balls of coffee and tobacco powder and stick them on matchsticks or tooth picks. Leave these in cupboards and other places where lizards are seen often. This mixture is fatal for them, so you will have to deal with disposing of the bodies.
The pungent smell of onions is also not pleasing to these creatures. So, spray some onion juice to make them stay away from your house.
5. Naphthalene Balls:
Naphthalene balls are also very effective in driving away lizards for good. You can keep these in kitchen shelves or cupboards, where lizards should just not go in.
6. Coffee Grounds:
They are very effective in driving cockroaches away from your house. You can keep this in small dishes in various locations in your house for getting rid of the roaches.
7. Borax And Sugar:
One amazingly effective remedy to get rid of the cockroaches is to mix 3 parts of borax to 1 part of sugar and sprinkle this mix where roaches are seen the most. This mixture will drive away the roaches in just about a few hours.
8. Baking Soda And Sugar:
If you are not very comfortable with the idea of using borax, you can also opt for a mixture of baking soda and sugar. Mix these two ingredients in equal amounts and sprinkle whereever needed. This will be fatal for cockroaches on consumption.
9. Fabric Softener:
A spray containing 3 parts of fabric softener and 2 parts of water, when sprayed on roaches proves to very effective in getting rid of these pests.
10. Ammonia And Water:
Frequently cleaning the floors with a mix of liquid concentrate of ammonia and water, i.e., nearly 2 cups of the ammonia liquid concentrate in a bucket of water will drive the roaches away due to the smell of the ammonia. Repeat this at least once in two weeks to keep your home cockroach free, at all times.
