If you want your garden to be healthy and pests free, never harm the local bird population. Birds are the most natural enemies of pests as pests are the best dishes for birds. The use of unhealthy chemicals in your garden will affect the birds too, resulting the destruction of birds in your region. Encourage birds to come into your garden by placing a bird bath in the garden and by planting plants that will attract birds such as sunflowers.

Organic alternatives to pesticides also could be used to protect your garden form insects. This organic alternatives are generally safe and vigorous. Have you ever though of making a barrier to prevent pests to enter your garden? Covering your garden with a light net will work as a perfect barrier. This barrier will stop flying insects not to enter your crops or flowers. Another simple method of pest control for a small garden is handpicking. You can handpick visible insects from your garden and kill them dropping them into soap solutions.

At the end, if at all your natural preventive methods turn unsuccessful, you can use any organic plant sprays to control unwanted pests. A mixture of water and petroleum oil is an example for organic pests control method. If you prefer to have an organic garden which is a perfect refreshing place, always stick to natural methods of pests control. By doing this you not only prefer to live in a safe and healthy environment, but also fulfill your duty to the mother plant to make it safe forever.
