The first part of the title of this article would have made most of our mouths water, right? Especially, if we are sitting at work, feeling hungry and looking forward for lunch break!
Well, as much as we would not like to admit the fact, most of us love "comfort food", or, junk food, because they taste amazing and make us happy!
Most people these days would be aware of the fact that to remain healthy and avoid diseases, they must eat healthy and ensure that their diet is balanced.
We also know of the fact that consuming junk food on a regular basis can not only cause weight gain, but it can also cause a host of other health issues.
However, in spite of knowing the fact that junk food is unhealthy, we cannot stop ourselves from indulging our taste buds once in a while, because that is human nature!
Also, unless we are advised by doctors not to consume any kind of junk foods at all, because of a certain health condition, it is not wrong to indulge in them occasionally.
So, most of us go seeking out our favourite junk foods once in a while to break the monotony.
Now, we know that there are thousands of junk foods from all over the world which can pique our interests, right?
Starting from the western junk foods like pizzas, burgers, pasteries, etc., to our very own Indian delicacies like samosas, kachoris, chaats and so on - there is no dearth of junk food in the world.
So, it can be rather hard to stay in control with all these deliciously unhealthy foods around us.
Now, if we want to indulge in junk food once in a while and still keep our health intact, then we must try to become aware of which of the junk foods are unhealthier in comparison to the others.
Let's take two top favourites of people across the globe - pizza and samosa and learn which one is the least healthy, in this article.
Pizza VS Samosa : Which One is Healthier?
As we know, pizza is a dish which contains a lot of carbohydrates (the base bread), fat in the form of cheese and it can also contain high-calorie meat and some vegetables. Pizza is not fried, but is baked.
Now, samosa is a dish prepared by deep-frying dough filled with potatoes, peas and spices. Potatoes also contain unhealthy carbohydrates and since samosas are deep-fried, they contain a lot of fat too.
Since the samosas are deep-fried, they contain more oil and fat content in comparison to pizzas which are baked.
While 100g of pizza contain about 276 calories, 100g of samosa contains about 400 calories.
So, although a pizza too is a generally unhealthy snack, as it contains a lot of fat and carbohydrates, samosa can be unhealthier, only because of the fact that it is deep-fried!
So, if you are a lover of samosas, you can always try the baked or shallow-fried version of it, so that it can be made relatively healthier.
