Did You Know That Oral Intercourse Can Spread An Untreatable STD?
This is why you must be very careful before you engage in oral sex!
You may have read a number of articles and even heard a lot of advice when it comes to taking precautions while engaging in sexual intercourse, right?
Well, as we know, the need for sex is one of the most primal instincts of any animal, including humans, just like hunger and thirst.
So, all of us have sexual needs that need to be fulfilled, otherwise, it could lead to a lot of mental frustration, which is never a good thing!
Although the main aim of a sexual relation between a male and a female is reproduction, it is also a fun activity that removes stress and frustration and allows two people to experience carnal pleasure.
A few years ago, especially in countries like India, sex was regarded as a taboo topic and so people were not encouraged to speak about it openly.
In many schools, imparting sex education was not allowed, so many people were completely ignorant about certain safety practices that need to be followed during sex.
These days, however, more and more awareness about sex, sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), safety precautions, etc., is being imparted.
As we know, safety measures like condoms, contraception, etc., are used to prevent certain unwanted things that could be the result of sex.
The first one is unplanned pregnancies, where people do not want to have kids, so contraceptive pills and condoms can help prevent it.
The second factor is the chances of acquiring STDs. Sexually transmitted diseases and infections are quite common and condoms can help prevent some of them, but not all of them!

Now, many people would be under the impression that condoms can prevent all forms of STDs and STIs.
While condoms can prevent certain STDs like AIDS to a certain extent, there are other STDs which can be spread through skin contact, saliva, etc., which a condom can't prevent.
So, read about this untreatable STD that can be spread through oral sex, here.

Oral sex is extremely popular, especially with people trying to avoid pregnancy, as oral sex cannot lead to pregnancy. For this reason, condoms are rarely used during oral sex.
Oral sex is also known to be extremely pleasurable, for both men and women.
Now, many people feel that STDs cannot be spread through oral sex. However, there is an exchange of saliva and genital fluids during this act.
If certain bacteria present in the saliva or genital fluids get into your system, it could cause diseases.
A recent study has detected a strain of bacteria that has been responsible for spreading an untreatable type of gonorrhoea in people.
Gonorrhoea is an STD with symptoms like painful urination, abnormal discharge, sore throat, lower abdominal pain, etc. Gonorrhoea can increase the risk of HIV and may cause infertility, if left untreated.
Usually gonorrhoea can be treated through antibiotics; however, this particular strain of gonorrhoea has not been responding to antibiotics, is what experts at the American Sexual Association, opine.
The researchers are still working on finding a treatment to this particular strain of gonorrhoea and advice people to take a lot of precaution before engaging in oral sex.
