But during this period of intermittent fasting it is highly important to keep your health in mind. The foods that you eat or any drink that you consume need to be selected very carefully.
There is a belief that the fast is observed to bring them closer to God and also to remind them of the suffering of those who are less fortunate.
Due to the change in food habits and also the timings, many people end up getting constipation, indigestion, etc. If not taken care, it might turn to piles as well later.

Almond Shake:
Soak 10-12 almonds overnight in a glass of water and then peel them. Take a glass of low fat milk, the almonds, a teaspoon of honey and a few peeled cardamons. Add all these ingredients into a blender and blend it well. Drink this one glass of almond shake during iftar; it helps.
Apple & Tomato Juice:
Rich in vitamins, iron and fibre content, apple and tomato juice are a must-have after you break the fast. Peel the apples and tomatoes and chop them into small pieces. Add these to a glass of water, a bit of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey. Blend it well and then drink it.
