Though consuming coffee in moderate amount can do good to your health, but one should be careful about its consumption in excess. As this can lead to certain side-effects and turn harmful to your health.
However, people who do not respond well to coffee should keep themselves away from it. Also pregnant women should be careful about high coffee consumption as this might harm their health.

Coffee contains a stimulant called caffeine that blocks an inhibitory neurotransmitter in the brain. This provides a stimulant effect there by improving the energy levels, mood and various aspects of brain function.
2. Helps Lose Weight:
Coffee contains essential minerals like magnesium and potassium, which helps the human body use insulin, thus regulating blood sugar levels and reducing your craving for sugary treats and snacks. In addition coffee contains caffeine that helps to break down the fat cells and thus aids in weight loss.
3. Lowers The Risk Of Diabetes:
The caffeine contained in coffee helps in reducing the risk of type-2 diabetes. Caffeine helps in decreasing the insulin sensitivity and impairs glucose tolerance. This in turn helps in reducing the risk of type-2 diabetes.
4. Helps Fight Depression:
Coffee contains caffeine that helps stimulate the central nervous system and boosts production of neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, and noradrenaline, which helps in fighting depression.
