Lentils, otherwise called legumes, are rich in fibre content, proteins, carbohydrates and minerals. People who are sensitive to eating fibre content, in other words, those of who are not used to eating a lot of fibre-dense foods can be the victim of flatulence on consuming lentils.
They also contain certain sugars which are very difficult to get digested resulting in excess gas production. However, soaking them overnight and consuming the sprouted lentils, can solve this problem.
