There Is A Dangerous Link Between Your Height And Prostate Cancer!
Here is some good news for all the men who feel they are not tall enough!
Gentlemen, do you often feel that you would have been much more satisfied with your height, if you were a few inches taller?
Well, it is rather normal for men who are slightly on the "shorter" side to feel that way because just like how women are expected to be slim, men are expected to be tall - it is another societal expectation that has been ingrained in people!
As we know, a lot of women go through a lot of frustration, because they are made to feel like they do not have the perfect body shape, look, etc.
Similarly,
it
is
considered
ideal,
when
men
are
at
least
above
5
feet
10
inches
in
height.
In
fact,
a
lot
of
men
are
made
fun
of,
even
if
they
are
anything
below
5
feet
7
inches,
in
many
cultures!
So, often, we see men considered short going through a lot of frustration. In fact, many psychologists have reported that they do treat a large number of men who are going through depression because of their height!
A lot of men are also rejected for being short; however, the fact is that height is one of the few things that can never be changed!
For example, if a person is overweight, he/she can exercise and lose weight. If they are unhappy with the shape of their nose, they can go in for a cosmetic surgery!
But, when it comes to height, it is something which cannot be changed and so people have to learn to accept it; however, it is easier said than done!
But here is some good news; a recent research study has found that the shorter you are, the lesser are your chances of developing prostate cancer!
So, read about how your height is connected to the risk of prostate cancer, here.
The Link Between Height And Prostate Cancer
As we all know, cancer is a fatal disease which can affect people of any age and gender, at any point in their lives! Sometimes, people could become victims of this disease, even if they try to follow a healthy lifestyle!
When there is abnormal multiplication of cells in the body, tumours start to form and destroy tissues and organs - this is cancer!
Prostate cancer is a type of cancer which affects the prostate glands present in men. It is said that prostate cancer affects 1 in 7 men, fatally.
Some of the symptoms of prostate cancer are difficulty in urination, blood in urine, urine retention, fatigue, weight loss, etc.
Now, a recent research study by Oxford University stated that taller men and also obese men had a greater risk of developing prostate cancer.
The researchers found that with every 3.9 inches increase in height, the risk of prostate cancer also increases by 21%!
The researches opine that the growth hormones responsible for a greater height in men could be the key factor for the development of prostate cancer.
The group of researchers is still trying to find out more on how the height of a man can be linked to prostate cancer.
