There is no doubt that foods can cause all sorts of emotions and feelings. Despite foods that make us feel happy in our bellies, there are certain foods that excite us, make us feel tired, cause bad dreams and other unexpected effects.

You don't always have to be stoned just by smoking marijuana or consuming alcohol in some case. Yet, you will be surprised to know that there are some foods out there that can make you feel trippy after consuming it for a moment.

There are some foods that can have a profound effect on our body and on our minds. It can quite make an assortment of feelings from sadness to happiness and everything in between.

These foods are outright psychedelic and they can cause hallucinations, visions, and other effects that make certain drugs look lame in comparison. Strangely enough, these foods will make you hallucinate and here is the list of 10 foods that can make you hallucinate.

1. Chilli Pepper

Chilli pepper causes hallucination because of the endorphin rush, which is a compound present in chillies. This food is a natural endorphin that can create an euphoric feeling because it taints your senses.

2. Nutmeg

Nutmeg contains an organic compound called myristicin that can make you feel dizzy and paranoid if taken in large quantities.

3. Coffee

Coffee is another drink that can cause hallucination if it is drunk in plenty. It is because of the caffeine present in it that makes you hallucinate. Caffeine intoxication happens a lot sooner than you would actually think.

4. Stilton Cheese

This kind of cheese while consuming provides wacky visions. Other types of cheese, such as blue cheese, are also said to make you hallucinate with extraordinary vivid dreams.

5. Mulberries

Mulberries can cause mild hallucinations. They give you a trippy experience when you consume them. It also produces a milky juice that stimulates the nervous system.

6. Poppy Seeds

Poppy seeds contain trace amounts of morphine not enough to cause psychological effects but if it is consumed in large amounts, it will make you go crazy.

Rye bread contains a chemical that can make you feel trippy. It is because of the fungus ergot that appears on it, which contains severe psychoactive chemicals.

8. Magic Mushrooms

These are a variety of mushrooms that have a psychedelic compound like psilocybin and psilocin, which are enough to make you go crazy and hallucinate.

Sea bream is a delicate white fish which can cause hallucinations. The hallucination effect comes from a substance called indole found in algae that the fish feeds on.

10. Sage

Sage is a natural herb that is closely related to rosemary. It has a myriad of health benefits but it causes hallucinations as well. This natural plant is known to create visions in people's mind.
