Chilly weather and a cup of hot chocolate - what more would you need to enjoy winter, right? Actually, winter is the season for parties and festivals but it is also the time for diseases.

If you don't make your immune system strong, you can be affected with a lot of diseases. From common cough and cold to dehydration and diarrhoea, winter can ruin your fun by making you suffer from these diseases.

That's why wearing warm clothes and using blankets are not enough. As the temperature begins to drop, you need to keep yourself warm from the inside as well. So, you need foods that keep you warm in cold weather.

What are the veggies that help in keeping us warm through the winter season? You can count on spinach, cauliflower, black beans, etc. Not only veggies, but there are also several foods that can keep you warm in the cold weather.

May be you stay away from hot beverages like coffee and tea due to caffeine, but in winter, you can have a few fuming cups to boost up your energy.

These foods keep your body warm and strengthen your immunity system from the inside, so that you can fight any type of a disease, especially during the winter season.

Winter is the season of vegetables and fruits. So, you can find many veggies that'll help keep you warm in winter. Here is the list of foods that keep you warm in cold weather, have a look at these.


1. Oatmeal:

This is a rich source of beta-gluten which boosts up your energy and makes you ready to go. Also, it contains plant-based protein and whole-grain fibre to keep you feeling full for long. If you feel lazy on a chilly day, have a bowl of oatmeal and enjoy your winter days.


2. Ginger:

If you're looking for veggies that help to keep you warm in winter, ginger can be your best must include food. It keeps your body warm and also revitalises your energy and immunity system, and it also works well on your digestive system.


3. Cold Coffee:

This is a glass of goodness. Don't hesitate because it is chilled. The caffeine can warm up your body from the inside and make you feel comfortable during winter. Have a glass of cold coffee with cream and say goodbye to winter breeze.


4. Chillies:

Though it is not one of the whole foods that keep you warm in cold weather, using chillies in curries or soups can give you warmth. Capsaicin in hot red chillies not only keeps you warm, but it also fights against the pain in joints and other body parts in winter.


5. Hot Chocolate:

Your mouth is already watering, right? A cup of hot chocolate and a thriller story on a winter night, heavenly, isn't it? You can add some marshmallows or almond milk to add to the taste. If you're a health-conscious person, have dark chocolates instead of milk chocolates.


6. Lean Meat:

Do you have the tendency of having cold feet and palms during winter? It happens due to iron deficiency in your body. Lean meat is a good source of iron, and your body can absorb it from meat than from any other source. Include it in your diet to stay warm.


7. Black Bean Soup:

If you're vegetarian, you can get saturated fat, protein and fibre from black beans. A bowl of black bean soup with cumin and chilli can keep your body warm and also help you fight against the bacterial attack, which otherwise can cause cough and cold.


8. Nuts:

While looking for foods that keep you warm in cold weather, have a handful of nuts. You can munch those either raw or roast them to enhance the taste. Nuts like almonds, peanuts, cashews, walnuts, hazelnuts, etc, not only keep you warm in the winter season but also provide enough nutrients to your body.
