We all know for a fact that the food we consume can have direct on indirect bearings on the functioning of the brain. Knowing that there exist numerous foods that affect the brain- positively or negatively-, it is essential to keep a tab and check on the foods we consume, especially those foods that harm the brain and cause irregularities in its functioning. " A healthy mind is a healthy body"- we've heard this right from the time we first joined preschool and although such is the case, we often tend to consume , sometimes out of ignorance, foods that can cause irregularities such as memory loss or decrease in the level of intelligence.

This article particularly focuses on certain foods that affect the brain. These foods are known to be promoters of mental inconsistencies such as memory loss and loss of attentiveness. Their continued and persistent action on the brain over a protracted time period causes them to be scientifically classified under categories such as "foods that cause memory loss or foods that decrease intelligence."

1. Sugary Foods:
The complications that sugar products can have on the body are major. Apart from supporting the growth of cancer cells, sugar products have detrimental effects on the memory.
2. Fried Foods:
The additives, dyes and chemicals that are used in processed foods are extremely harmful, not just to the body but to the brain as well. Chemicals and preservatives that are used in friend foods are known to be the major cause of hyperactivity in children.

Even Precooked foods contain tons of additives and preservatives. They are identified to be amongst the leading promoters of degenerate brain imbalances such as Alzheimer's.

Sausages, Salami and Hot dogs are common foods that are rich in processed protein. Proteins are extremely important for muscle building and healthy functioning of cells in the body. Processed proteins are differently structured, owing to the many additives. The effects on the brain in the long run can be sinister.
7. Alcohol:
Alcohol when consumed in small quantities is extremely beneficial to the body. However, if abused, it can be perilous. Over time, it leads to a condition called brain fogging. Loss of memory, depression, anxiety and many other mental complications can emanate from long term alcohol use.
