When the body is not able to absorb the glucose molecules from the food that we eat, it leads to a spike in the blood sugar level. And this is what gives rise to a condition called diabetes. Diabetes should be taken care of in the initial stage itself, else if left untreated, it can lead to other serious health conditions, like renal failure affecting the kidney functioning.
Here, we will be explaining about the best ways to consume broccoli to regulate the blood sugar level in the body and in the process prevent the spike in blood sugar level and thereby diabetes. Have a look.
Step #1:
Take about two fresh stalks of dark-coloured broccoli.
Step #2:
Make it a point to include the florets as well as the stem, these too are nutrient and fibre rich.
Step #3:
In order to get its maximum nutrients, broccoli is best eaten raw in the form of salad or lightly steamed instead of fully cooked ones.
Step #4:
Chop the broccoli into smaller pieces, add a bit of lettuce, sprouts, a few drops of olive oil to this salad. You could also add a bit of walnuts.
You can have this salad once in a day. It helps in regulating the blood sugar level to a great extent and thereby prevents diabetes.
