Take a bowl of hot water and with your face bent towards the bowl, cover yourself with a towel. Inhale the hot steam 2-3 times in a sitting at least twice a day. It helps.
2. Mustard Oil:
Known for its antibiotic and antiviral properties, using slightly warm mustard oil helps in getting rid of running nose. Put one or two drops of this warm mustard oil in each of the nostrils at least twice a day. This helps in clearing nasal congestion.
3. Turmeric:
Turmeric is known since ancient times for its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. Take a teaspoon of turmeric, add it to a glass of warm milk and drink it before going to bed. This helps provide quick relief from running nose.
4. Eucalyptus Oil:
Pour a few drops of eucalyptus oil on a handkerchief and inhale it throughout the day. This helps in reducing the symptoms of running nose.
5. Salt Water:
Add half a teaspoon of salt to a bowl of warm water and mix it well. Put a few drops of this water to each of the nostrils and slowly blow your nose. This helps in getting rid of the excess mucus.
6. Basil:
Basil is one of the best home remedies for running nose. It is known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Chew a few basil leaves in the morning and before going to bed. It helps.
7. Honey:
Honey is known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Add a pinch of cinnamon powder to two teaspoons of honey and one teaspoon of lemon juice, mix it well and have this twice a day. It helps relieve the symptoms of running nose.
8. Ginger:
Ginger is known for its antiviral and antifungal properties. One could just chew small pieces of ginger or boil it with water and drink it in the form of tea. This helps alleviate running nose.
9. Garlic:
Garlic is known for its antibacterial properties. Take one or two garlic cloves and chew them 2-3 times a day. It helps in treating running nose.
10. Onion:
Onion is known for its antibacterial properties. Add a few pieces of onion to boiling water and let it boil for a few minutes. Inhale the steam two to three times in a sitting. This helps reduce the symptoms effectively.
