Kidney Stones: 10 Signs Women Should Not Ignore
Kidney stones is not a common problem. It is stated out of every 10, there are around 7 people who suffer from kidney stones and most of them are women. Kidney stones are hard chemical deposits that form inside the kidneys. The problematic condition is medically termed as nephrolithiasis or urolithiasis and are also called as struvite stones.
Kidney stones are formed due to an improper diet in which animal protein and high salts are to blame. The second cause is high dose of medication that is laced with excessive calcium containing antacids which form the kidney stones.
Getting rid of kidney stones is simple if they are of the size of a pea or even a marble. But, the removal of kidney stones that are larger in size can be quite a task; generally they are passed out from the body through the urine. In some cases, the kidney stones manage to travel into the ureter. This is the narrow tube between the kidney and bladder where the stones may get trapped in the ureter causing infection and more problems.

Urination
One of the basic symptoms of kidney stones in women is urination problem. This symptom normally shows when the stone is passed or is passing out from the urethra. In this stage, women who suffer from this problem should consume a lot of fluids to help flush out the stone faster.
Nausea
Feeling sick on the tummy is another sign to watch out for. Nausea is often accompanied with high fever.
Cloudy Urine
Cloudy urine is another symptom of kidney stone in women. Though cloudy urine is also related to UTI Infection, it is best to get a urine test sample to clear all doubts related to kidney stones.
Urgency To Urinate
There are different reasons why you tend to frequently urinate. However, if this problem persists along with the others mentioned above, it is a clear indication that you have stones in the kidney.
Fever
High fever is another sign not to ignore, especially if this symptom is accompanied with nausea and cloudy urine. Reduce the high temperature with the help of medication and cold ice packs for the forehead.
Abdominal Pain
Striking abdominal pain and cloudy urine are symptoms not to be ignored in women. It is necessary to take a urine test to clear your doubts about kidney stones.
Excessive Sweating
Sweating under the arms, between the groins and on the face are early symptoms not to be ignored. Get a blood and urine test done as this is one of the major signs of kidney stones.
Bloody Urine
If the urine looks unusual and has a pinkish or reddish tint, it is something you should worry about. Also, note if the urine smells uncanny.
Groin Pain
Groin pain is another symptom of kidney stones in women. Groin pain usually occurs when the stone is passed out from the urethra while urinating.
Burning Sensation
When the stones are passed out during urination, this symptom occurs. The burning sensation will remain for at least 5 to 6 minutes even after the stone is removed from the body.
