A healthy breakfast can help to kick-start the day more actively. Often in the hustle bustle of life, people tend to skip their breakfast.

This probability is mostly seen in women who hardly can make out time in between managing household chores and their office work. But skipping breakfast can have ill effects on one's health.

While it seems to you that a glass of juice or a leftover pizza is enough to suffice your breakfast meal, your body might not be thinking so. After a certain while, your stomach again starts growling with hunger.

In that scenario, it is seen that most people opt to munch down on light snacks or some oily, junk foods.

These can lead to digestive problems, ill health, bloating and most importantly, they will add on the extra pounds to your existing kilos. Such unhealthy food often becomes problematic for the stomach to digest early in the morning.

Apart from these, people who are engaged in eating leftover food are also at the risk of incurring obesity and its related disorders. So, it is highly important to have a proper balanced diet all throughout the day, especially in the morning.

Here are some of the healthy breakfast meals that are nutritious and will aid towards losing weight.

Sprouts Poha:

Poha is easy to cook and tasty to eat. And if it is cooked with sprouts, not only does it taste good but it is also highly nutritious. So, for making Sprouts Poha, all you need to do is: take gently washed 1-1/2 cups of Poha and drain the water.

Now in a frying pan, add half a spoon of oil and put mustard seeds in it. When the seeds start to crackle, add chopped onions and green chilli in it. Sauté nicely on medium flame till the onion becomes light brown.

Now add the boiled sprouts and sauté again for 2 minutes on medium flame. Add salt and sugar (according to your taste) and turmeric, and mix it well.

Now add ¼th cup of water and bring it to boil. Add the poha and stir well. Before serving, you can add coriander for garnishing. A bowl of sprouts poha in a day provides essential nutrients such as iron, vitamin, calcium, etc.

Oatmeal:

Oats are a very healthy food to be consumed during breakfast. A continuous consumption of oats can lead to subsequent weight loss. It contains high amount of fibre that keeps your stomach full for a longer period.

Studies show that a breakfast made of oats, if consumed 3 hours prior to performing exercises, helps to reduce body fat faster. This is because oats help in keeping your blood sugar level at a normal rate and prevent the body from storing fat.

Oats are very healthy and easy to prepare. In order to prepare oatmeal, add 3 and 1/4th cup of water, 1/4th teaspoon of salt and leave it to boiling. When the water comes to a boil, add 2 cups of rolled oats to it and reduce the flame and leave it uncovered for five minutes.

After that, remove the pan from heat and let the oats cool down a bit. Now, add your favourite topping, like dry fruits, seasonal fruits, berries, etc., and serve it. You can also try preparing oats with skimmed milk. A 1 and 1/2 cup of oatmeal in a day is recommended for beginners. However, if you shed your pounds quicker, have it thrice a day.

Quinoa has high protein content and its sweet and nutty taste makes it a delicious breakfast option for you. So, to have it on your breakfast platter, all you need to do is rinse a cup of quinoa in cold water, swish it, and leave it to drain the excess water.

Now, heat a saucepan and add a few drops of olive oil in it. Add the drained quinoa and keep stirring till all the water gets evaporated. Now, add 2 cups of water and ½ a teaspoon of salt and bring it to boil.

Then, simmer the flame and cook it for 15 minutes. After this, put off the flame and give a 5 minutes of standing time. Now, remove the lid and your fluffy quinoa is ready to be served. For better results, have 1 and 1/2 cups of quinoa every day.

Eggs are the favourite foods of all age groups. It requires no hard work to cook eggs. Well, by eggs we mean boiled eggs and no omelet. For this, heat sufficient water in a saucepan and put the eggs. Keep boiling it till the outer shell begins to crack. Now, remove the water and peel off the shell and your egg is ready. An average of two boiled eggs daily is nutritious for your health.

All of us are well aware of the weight-losing benefit of yogurt. A bowl of yogurt with sliced banana is a healthy and wholesome breakfast option. It will keep your stomach full and also help in reducing weight. Have this serving once daily for effective results.
