Most people suffer from reduced stomach acid levels and this condition is medically known as hypochlorhydria. Stomach acid, also known as hydrochloric acid, helps in the digestion of food substances such as proteins, fats and carbohydrates, so that they are finally absorbed into the body.

You must eat a teaspoon of pure honey, as this will kill the bacterial infections in your stomach, causing low acid production. H. pylori is a bacteria that normally resides in the stomach, but low stomach acid causes its increased growth, which in turn suppresses the production of stomach acid. Honey kills this bacteria, as it has peroxide content that makes it a powerful anti-bacterial agent.


Foods Rich In Zinc

Eat foods rich in zinc to increase the production of stomach acid. Zinc helps in the production of hydrochloric acid and thus aids in the digestion of food. Foods rich in zinc are pumpkin seeds, oysters, liver, red meat, peanuts, beans, yogurt, cheese, brown rice, whole wheat, turkey, chicken, etc.


Drink Hot Ginger Tea

Avoid drinking ice-cold water with your meals, as it stops the production of stomach acid and slows down the digestion process too. To increase digestion, drink hot ginger tea or dandelion root tea after the meals.


Lemon Juice And Cabbage Juice

Drink warm lemon juice or cabbage juice before starting your meals. This will aid in the digestion of food, by increasing the production of stomach acid. This is one of the simplest ways to increase the stomach acid production and thereby increase digestion.


Apple Cider Vinegar

Add 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to a glass of warm water and drink it 15-20 minutes before meals. Mix it in warm water, as cold water will suppress the stomach acid. Drink it using a straw to offer protection to your teeth.


Sea Salt For Low Stomach Acid

You must eat a pinch of sea salt daily to increase the production of stomach acid. Sea salt provides chloride, which helps in the production of hydrochloric acid (stomach acid), and thus aids in the digestion of food.


Chew Your Food Properly

Chewing of food sends a signal to your brain that helps in the secretion of stomach acid. Moreover, the chewing process will render food easy for digestion, as large gulps of food are harder for the stomach acid to digest, especially in those with a limited secretion of stomach acid. Hence, you must chew your food at least 20 to 30 times per bite.
