The Proper Way To Use Knife And Fork At A Dining Table!

European people generally pay a lot of attention to good table manners. They eat most of the food with america,britain,cutlery,home decor,knife fork. The most important america,britain,cutlery,home decor,knife fork for their food is knife and fork. Even young children are expected to eat properly with knife and fork. Here are the proper steps to use knife and fork at a dining table.

  • To start with, relax your shoulders and get it hunched up.
  • Keep your elbows against the sides of your body.
  • Now, take the fork in your left hand and knife in your right hand.
  • When you hold the knife, the index finger is mostly straight and rests near the base of the top, blunt side of the blade. The other four fingers wrap around the handle.
  • The prongs of the fork should be facing downward. The index finger should be straight when you hold the fork. The index finger should be on the back-side near the head of the fork. The other four fingers wrap around the handle.
  • Bend the wrists, so that your index fingers are pointing down towards your plate. This makes the tip of the knife and fork also point towards the plate somewhat.
  • Bring smallish bits of food to your mouth with the fork, repeat.
  • If you are in America, cut the food into small pieces and place knife on edge of plate with blades facing in. Eat food by switching fork to right hand.
  • If you are in Britain, eat food with fork still in left hand.
  • Rice and small items are picked up by the fork in a slight scooping manner, rather than stabbing at.
  • There is no need to use the knife to divert items to the fork, especially the back side of the fork. Don't pile items on the back side of the fork as if it were some type of art work. Turn the fork over.
  • After finishing, try laying the utensils down both together at an angle when finished, at a 11 o'clock to 4 o'clock positioning. You can also lay off the knife and fork upside down on the plate. You can also lay down the knife and fork like a bridge on the sides of plate.
  • Have a nice time at the table!
