Easy Til Ladoo Recipe: Bhaiya Dooj Special
Til ladoos are always a favourite amongst kids and adults. And this can be the perfect sweet you can make for your brother on this Bhaiya Dooj! It is a very popular festival in North India where sisters pray and perform special poojas for their loving brothers.
Sweets and special delicacies are prepared for Bhaiya Dooj that occurs after Diwali. The recipe for til ladoos are simple and it can be a perfect treat for not just your brother, but the whole family.
Til ladoos are also called Chimili Urundai and Sigili Urundai in South India. It is a healthy dish as it contains jaggery and sesame seeds. Our food expert Usha Srikumar has prepared a special recipe for Til ladoo that you can prepare for your loving brother this Bhaiya Dooj.

All you need
Sesame
seeds-
2
cups
(de-skinned)
Jaggery-
1½
cups
(powdered)
Procedure
1.
Take
a
tawa
and
heat
it
well.
Roast
the
sesame
seeds
till
they
splutter.
2.
Now,
powder
the
sesame
seeds
in
a
mixer.
3.
After
it
is
mixed
well,
mix
the
powdered
jaggery
and
sesame
seeds
into
laddoos/urundais.
4.
Place
each
ladoo
in
a
serving
plate.
You
need
not
add
any
ghee
or
oil
to
these
ladoos
because
sesame
seeds
have
natural
oil
in
them
and
this
binds
the
ladoos.

Sesame
seeds
are
rich
in
copper.
They
help
in
reducing
the
risk
of
migraine,
osteoporosis
and
even
colon
cancer.
It
contain
proteins.
They
also
help
in
reducing
the
blood
pressure.
Jaggery
is
a
good
cleansing
agent
in
the
body.

and
stomach.

Add a few roasted cashewnuts into the mixture of powdered sesame seeds and jaggery before making them into ladoos. It will add to the taste and flavour.
