Christmas Special Recipe: Marzipan
Christmas is the time to have lots and lots of sweets. Cakes, cookies, chocolates and so many more goodies of the Christmas season make it the most happy time of the year.
Homemade goodies during Christmas is always appreciated. It does require you to put some effort but it is something which really pleases your guests.
So, today we have just the right recipe for Christmas which is easy to prepare and can be stored for long. Marzipans are popular Christmas sweetmeats made out of almonds and sugar. It does not take too much of labour and gets ready in no time.

All you need
- Almonds- 1 cup
- Powdered sugar- 1 cup (a little extra to dust)
- Vanilla essence- 3 drops
- Almond essence- 3 drops
Procedure
- Boil water and add almonds, boil for 5 minutes,. Let it cool down and then remove the skin.
- .In a chopper add the almonds and grind it well.
- Then add the powdered sugar and grind it in the chopper again till it looks like a dough.
- Add the vanilla, almond essence and grind again.
- Now place three tablespoons of sugar powder on a plate and remove the almond mix from the chopper and place it on the sugar. Knead properly to make it a neat ball.
- Keep it in air tight bag, make sure there is no air in it, and keep it in the fridge. Cut out the pieces into desired shapes and sizes.
You can store the marzipans upto 7 months provided you do not let any air into the the box in which you are storing it. It is better to store the marzipans in air tight bags or containers.
