Beef Roast Recipe

Serves: 4

Preparation Time: 30 minutes

Cooking Time : 1 hour

Ingredients

  • Beef - 1 kg
  • Ginger garlic - 1 tsp
  • Pepper corns -8
  • Turmeric powder - ½ tsp
  • Green chilly - 2 (sliced)
  • Onions - 3 (chopped)
  • Lime - 1
  • Cloves - 7
  • Dry chillies - 5
  • Cinnamon stick - 2
  • Garam masala - 1 tsp
  • Oil - 1 tsp
  • Tomatoes - 2 (chopped)
  • Tamarind - 1 tsp
  • Garlic cloves - 2
  • Ginger - ½
  • Salt to taste
  • Water

Procedure

  1. You need to first wash the beef properly and cut into 4 to 5 big pieces.
  2. After the beef is cooked well, prick the beef with a fork and marinate it with salt, ginger garlic paste and lime juice and marinate it for about 15 minutes.
  3. Pour 2 tbs of oil in a deep vessel or pot and then add cloves, pepper corn, kasmiri chillies, cinnamon and roast them for a minute.
  4. Add to the pan ginger and garlic, saute for a minute and add onions and cook till they become translucent in colour.
  5. Now add in the garam masala and turmeric powder.
  6. Add tomatoes and green chillies (optional), cover the pot and cook till the tomato becomes soft.
  7. Add marinated beef, cover the pot and cook on high heat for 20 minutes.
  8. Add tamarind juice and water if required and cook on low for 30 to 40 minutes.
  9. At this time the beef should be cooked, now take off heat.
  10. Cool the meat for about ten minutes or so use a folk to hold the meat and cut into thin slices, pour gravy over the meat and serve.
