Aging is literally a nightmare to all. With the current way of lifestyle, aging of skin sets in very much earlier in the thirties rather than in the sixties. The regular and persistent use of essential oils can make a difference. Tangerine, lavender, rose, ylang-ylang, frankincense, cypress, and sandalwood work well.

Acne and blemishes

Even when there is so much of protection on the skin all the time, one hardly stop the breakouts and the resultant scars, especially when young. This has to be regulated from within the body and essential oils seep into the skin creating magic. Tea tree, vetiver, and lavender are the best options.

Red marks and dark spots

In a nutshell, it is the uneven skin tone that has to be treated and the essential oil that will work are lemon, lavender, and frankincense.

Other factors to be considered

Place one drop of the essential oil on a construction paper. The oil must evaporate quickly without leaving any noticeable ring. This vouches for the purity of the essential. If you find that a ring has been left behind, then the purity of it is to be questioned. This test does not work out for myrrh, patchouli, and absolutes.

An essential oil of good quality can be identified to a certain extent with its cost. You will have to shell out a few bucks to get a good one. This is because hundreds of pounds of plants are used to extract just 30 ml of oil. However, this cannot be true in all cases.

Do a patch test

It is highly recommended to do a patch test before using an essential oil. Combine one drop of the essential oil with ½ tsp carrier oil and rub it on the inside, upper portion of the arm. If all goes well even after a few hours, you can very go ahead with the usage.
